It started in 2014 in Kolkata — a camera, a curiosity, and a city that never stopped moving. What began as personal documentary work quickly turned into something more serious: government campaigns, architectural photography for HIDCO and NKDA, and documentary projects that required not just technical precision but the ability to tell a story across a frame.
By 2019 I was working across infrastructure and township projects with IL&FS, learning what it means to produce visual content at scale — across timelines, across teams, across expectations. It was rigorous work, and it gave me a foundation that most commercial photographers never build. I understood narrative before I understood feed algorithms.
In 2021, everything shifted. Social media had stopped being a distribution channel and had become the primary medium — and brands and creators needed someone who understood both the craft and the platform. I pivoted hard. Since then, I've worked with 35+ creators and brands, helped grow channels from zero to millions of views, and built a studio practice that treats social content with the same intentionality I brought to documentary filmmaking. I'm now based at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana — working with local businesses, campus organisations, and national brands who understand that great content is a long game.
When I started working with Preeti Sarkar, she had a YouTube channel with around 30,000 subscribers — solid engagement, clear voice, but content that wasn't optimised for how the algorithm rewards watch time and sharing behaviour.
We rebuilt the content strategy from the ground up: different formats for different stages of the funnel, consistent visual identity across thumbnails and intros, and a production cadence that made quality sustainable rather than exhausting. I handled all photography, video production, and content direction while Preeti focused on what she does best — showing up authentically for her audience.
The result was 1 million subscribers, 90M+ combined views, and a channel that now generates consistent organic growth without paid promotion. The content did the work because the strategy was right from day one.
